Security Patrols

High visibility signage is displayed and electronic tracking helps us track the frequency and effectiveness of visits.
Our Patrol Officers develop a profile of your business and its surroundings. This assists Patrol Officers to determine what is normal activity and standard procedures at your site; along with the knowledge of the physical location should we be required to respond to an urgent situation.
- Patrol Officer to inspect accessible points of entry i.e. Doors, windows, gates and fence line to check they are secure.
- Patrol Officer to conduct an inspection of grounds within perimeter of site including equipment and vehicles.
- Persons found on site will be questioned for identification and authorisation
Electronic Surveillance
Southern Cross can supply and install a wide range of security alarms and remote monitoring solutions. We can provide monitoring of your existing alarm systems as part of a package of services for customers.
Alarm Response
In the event your alarm system is activated, a Southern Cross Patrol Officer will attend your premises to observe and report on the situation. The alarm will be reset and the premises secured before the Patrol Officer departs. In the event of criminal or malicious activity the police will be contacted and a comprehensive report provided.

In the event of a security breach or disturbance, the nominated emergency contacts will be notified where the attendance of police is required. Your Customer Service Representative will provide you with a quarterly update. The required Security Inspector or Branch Manager will provide further assistance where required or requested.
Southern Cross operates a grade 1 rated facility in Brisbane to support our operations nationally. This service is also utilized by a number of corporate customers that require co-ordinated security activities on a 24 hour basis.
The operations centre utilizes state of the art communications technology and is manned by licensed and highly trained staff.
The facility is supported by operating control rooms in Perth, Sydney & Melbourne- giving us local response capability and the benefits of a national overview.
Security Guards
Our Security Officers are recruited, inducted and trained to ensure that all staff are qualified to perform their duties professionally and with dedication. Our officers undergo a selection process, which include police checks, literacy and numeracy testing, reference checking and probity clearance.
